SUMMARY:Understanding Workplace/Campus Violence Prevention and Your Role
DESCRIPTION:To attend this training\, you must register for this session in Reporter. \nSafety is a community responsibility and all university community members should be aware of their responsibility in sharing concerns. All staff and faculty are required to complete this training biennially. This is an interactive training offered to all employees and students. \nAt the completion of this training attendees will be able to: \n\nIdentify components of the Campus/Workplace Violence Prevention Regulation.\nUnderstand what constitutes violent behavior and their mandatory reporting responsibilities.\nIdentify concerning behaviors.\nIdentify strategies to enhance communication and defuse hostile situations.\nIdentify available resources.\n\nLearning outcomes include: \n\nProvide facts about workplace violence (basic behavioral and psychological considerations).\nIdentify\, define and list behaviors of concern.\nExplain triggering events.\nExplain warning signs associated with intimate partner violence.\nProvide response options for behaviors of concern and emergencies.\nExplain fundamentals of de-escalation.\nExplain courses of action during emergencies\, such as an active assailant.
