Dr. Tina Nelson-Moss: Director of Risk Assessment/Risk Assessment Case Manager


Stacy Fair: Director of Youth Programs & Compliance 

Stacy Fair has worked in Higher Education for over 20 years.  Ms. Fair is the university’s first Director of Youth Programs and Compliance under the Department of Risk Assessment within the Division of Environmental Health and Public Safety after having spent 13 years in Enrollment Management and Services serving as the Director of the Joyner Visitor Center and the Office of Parents & Families Services.  In these roles, Ms. Fair monitored the Protection of Minors Policy and Procedures and initiated the Emerging Scholars Academy.  Ms Fair has worked closely with the Recruiters Roundtable and the University Open House committee, which she chaired 2009-2018. 

Prior to arriving at NC State, Ms. Fair served as an Academic Advisor, Assistant Registrar and Commencement Coordinator at UNCG and has coordinated or assisted with dozens of commencement ceremonies and large-scale events.

Unique career experiences include earning a CDL to drive tour buses for the Joyner Visitor Center and writing a CFAT grant to install the first level II electric vehicle charging station in the city of Raleigh in the JVC parking lot. She holds a B.A. in Youth Ministry, a Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration from UNCG and is currently “All But Dissertation” in STEM Education at NC State.


Lauren Shea: Associate Director of Risk Assessment/ VPTM Case Manager 

Lauren Shea is the Associate Director of the NC State Office of Risk Assessment and one of the NC State Case Managers in the Violence Prevention & Threat Management Program. Ms. Shea has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work and has worked as a social worker for over 10 years.Ms. Shea is a certified QPR Suicide Prevention Instructor and is certified in multiple risk assessment tools. She is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP).

Prior to joining the Wolfpack, Ms. Shea started her career in Baltimore, Maryland where she worked for 5 years in Child Protective Services, first as an investigative social worker and then as a supervisor. During this time, Ms. Shea also worked part-time as a psychiatric social worker in a hospital Emergency Department. She moved to North Carolina in 2016 and continued her career in child welfare, serving as a Child Protective Services supervisor for prevention, in-home services, foster care, and after hours for 6 years.

During her child welfare career, Ms. Shea managed several state grants, was qualified as a child maltreatment expert in court, certified in the CornerHouse Forensic Interviewing Protocol (RATAC), assisted with pilot implementation of a Lethality Assessment Protocol and Violence Exposure Assessment Tool within the Department of Social Services, and was the agency point of contact for the Every Student Succeeds Act.


Jennifer Bills: Assistant Director of Risk Assessment/ VPTM Case Manager

Jennifer Bills is the Assistant Director of the NC State Office of Risk Assessment and a Violence Prevention & Threat Management Case Manager. Ms. Bills holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies as well as a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Prior to joining NC State, Ms. Bills worked as a school social worker for 4 years in Denver, Colorado. In this role, Ms. Bills was responsible for providing direct mental health services to students, conducting suicide risk assessments, and presenting information to teachers regarding student mental health and child abuse reporting requirements. Additionally, she led her school’s crisis team through the threat assessment process from start to finish including identifying a potential safety concern and coordinating ongoing safety planning with teachers, parents, and law enforcement.

Additional career experience includes working in Child Protective Services as an investigative caseworker, volunteering on the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and interning with the Equity and Diversity Department of a school district in Nevada.


Sara Thomson: Assistant Director of Risk Assessment/ VPTM Case Manager

Sara Thomson is the Assistant Director of the NC State Office of Risk Assessment and a Violence Prevention & Threat Management Case Manager. Sara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Prior to joining NC State, Sara worked for the NC Division of Public Health with a focus on improving the mental wellbeing of birthing people across the state. In this role Sara provided training and technical assistance to healthcare providers on perinatal behavioral health concerns. There she led the implementation of universal anxiety screening within all high-risk prenatal health department clinics across the state. Additionally, she worked on initiatives to identify, review, and reduce pregnancy related deaths in NC. Before working with the Division of Public Health, Sara worked as a psychotherapist and clinic manager at a community mental health agency. Her clinical work focused on the treatment of complex trauma, personality disorders, high-risk behaviors, and chronic suicidality.

Medha Vadlamaani: Student Worker Office Assistant for Youth Programs & Compliance

Medha Sai Vadlamaani is a Finance and Economics major at North Carolina State University, set to graduate in December 2025.

While at NC State, Medha serves as the Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Student Business Sustainability Association, NC State, focusing on incorporating the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals into the association’s strategy. She is also the Chief Marketing Officer for MannMukti, NC State, where she successfully implemented events and managed branding campaigns.

Prior to coming to NC State, Medha interned as an Investment Banking Analyst at Polymath Advisors, she conducted profiling and background research of investors, evaluated financial performance, and utilized financial technology for reporting. At StdyGrp, Chennai, as a Market Analyst, she contributed to research, competitive analysis, and new product development.
